Description
Composition in black and white. Contour lines and shading. In the foreground, four workers occupy the entire width of the composition. The first, on the left, front, holds with both hands a forward shovel up, diagonally to the right. Beside him, also from the front, kneeling, another worker with his head low and hat, holding with both hands what looks like the edge of a bag. Here are two profile figures walking to the right, bent with big bags on their backs. In the second plane, the center of the composition group of three figures and on the right representation of a tree. Also in the background, a little behind the center of the figures, Ox being carried by the stream of a river which descends from the upper on the left corner to the center of the composition. Appearing to be bordering the river representation of a canoe with a rower in a leg ends and various other figures in various positions in which seems to be the river bank and the inside of the canoe. Behind this group of figures, suggestion of a fence with four figures in the background in the upper on the right corner.
