The social meaning of art

The text was a speech-lecture presented at the Candido Portinari Conference read to Argentine students in Buenos Aires and repeated in Uruguay. It was published in the Argentinian periodical Cuardenillos de Cultura and in the Brazilian magazine A Época, n.184 in November 1947.
