Description
Composition in light shades of ochre, white, green and earthy. Smooth texture. It depicts men and women doing the harvest of tobacco. In the foreground, on the left, a woman is sitting on the floor in profile to the right with bending legs, using a light color long sleeve dress; on the right, a tobacco plant is suggested. In the background, in the center, a facing forward man, wearing a broad-brimmed hat, his upper body leaning forward, holding in his hands a low tobacco plant, which is in front of him. On the third level, on the left, a man is facing back and his torso is bending , he is wearing a shirt and pants rolled up below the knees. On the right, a man is standing , facing forward, head and arms raised suggesting he is holding something in his hands. In the background, on the left, the figure of a standing woman is suggested; 3/4 to the right, in the center and on the left, an undefined area may suggest a plantation.
