Title
Boy with Top
Description
Composition in earthy, white, gray, ochre and black tones. Smooth texture with marked brushstrokes. Bust of a boy wearing a paper hat and spin top in hand appearing to be sitting in a high-backed chair. The boy is near the edge to the left, has a small face, brown hair and facial features outlined, suggesting to be looking toward the top that is resting on the palm of his left hand. The boy wears a pyramid-shaped paper hat and shirt in dark earthy tone with long sleeves. Appears to be sitting in a chair's backrest with wooden beams with two vertical and two slightly curved downwards horizontally. Background of the composition is smooth white to reddish tone ground area at the middle of the figure's chest. Light falling from the left of the composition illuminates part of the boy's face, and we see a shadowed area on the left cheek and neck.
