Saint Cecilia
Description
Composition in red, orange, yellow, ochre, earthy, green, blue, gray, rose and lilac. Smooth texture. Santa Cecilia flanked by four figures, occupying almost the entire height of the composition. The group is standing, and Santa Cecilia to the center. Santa has long hair tied behind her ear, big eyes, on the right arm bent at the waist height supporting a lyre holding with his on the left hand to the body. Using long dress with long sleeves and supported by the tip mantle on the rightmost figure, forming winding line. It feet apart sideways and shoes sandals. The figure of a man, on the left, is back with the profile head to the right, a beard and mustache and looks at the woman lying between him and Santa. This woman is from the front, with the semi-covered body of men and Santa and have long hair, face and round eyes. To the right, two more male figures, and what is next to the Santa to the meeting with the head turned to the left 3/4, with the semi-covered body by the Holy and man of the extreme on the right. This has the head turned three quarters to the left, wear a hood, long beard and stands with folded hands. All figures wear long robes geometrized that blend with each other. Square shadow areas behind the heads of the figures. On the floor, on the left, a tambourine and on the right triangle. Blue plain background to the horizon, where we can see highs on the left and on the right.
General Info
In 1955 when the 36th International Eucharist Congress was held in Rio de Janeiro, request was made for the panel to be loaned to decorate the bishops' hall at the side of the altar mounted on the Castle Esplanade. The panel was blessed on the occasion.
