Description
Composition in yellow, orange, blue, gray, black, rose, green and earthy tones. Smooth texture in the background, thicker with spatula use in the kneeling figure and marked brushstrokes. A despossed group with a lying boy occupying almost the entire area of the composition. On the left, a man facing forward is kneeling on the left leg, right leg bent , head down toward the boyish figure lying in front of him, to whom he is offering a water gourd with his left hand. The boy appears to be dead, lying horizontally, head on the left, resting on the knee of the man and feet to the right. It is squalid and has a greenish face. The two male figures wear sleeveless shirts and pants. On the right, two women standing; the one on the left looks pregnant, she is facing forward, arms along the body and legs spread and the one on the right is back facing, 3/4 turned to the left; both dressed in black and wearing sandals. Background of the composition is yellow in the upper half and orange in the lower half.
