Description
Composition in black and white. Rapid draft lines. Several groups of people spread across the entire area of ​​the composition with scaffold in the background. In the foreground, to the left and on the right, a noble group standing, back facing, wearing jackets. In the center, two men facing back, side by side, embracing each other and two figures appearing to be kneeling, two raised arms can be seen. In the background, on the right of center, another group outlined and continuation of the side groups growing in perspective towards the side margins. At the bottom, on the right of center, on the scaffold a figure is haging from a rope ahead of a trunk. Contourning the scene, a row of schetched figures and other groups suggest a crowd.
