Description
Composition in gray and black. Contour lines and shading. Man panning, occupying the full area of the support against a plain background. The miner is in profile to the left, bent forward, holding the panning with both hands at the knees. It wears wide-brimmed hat, has the well-marked facial features, bare chest, on the left leg in front of on the right and pants at the ankles. The feet are cut by the bottom edge of the support and suggest being in the water. The figure is depicted with strong muscles, indicated by shading effects obtained by esfuminho.
