Composition in tones earthy, blue, gray, yellow, ochre, black and white. Smooth texture, colored areas dry brush and contour lines. It depicts group of women and children in singing lesson, facing a woman. Some figures have defined facial features and all have the face outlined by shadows, wear long dresses with long sleeves. In the foreground woman sitting on bench in profile to the left, with the stretched hands on the legs, hair slicked back and shadowed face. At his side, in front, a crock, far on the right, plant tuft and more on the left an empty seat next to a group of six children sitting. Children are facing the woman with outstretched hands on the legs. Standing group of women that surrounds the entire width of the composition, forming a semi-circle with four children in front. A girl standing next to the group that is sitting, one at the center of the group and two on the right. The last child is in front of a fat woman standing with hands on her shoulders. Background with shaded suggesting high ground and a house on the right.
