Description
Composition in gray, blue, earthy, black, white, green and red. Smooth texture, marked strokes, shaded and contoured figures in black. Piper and Bahia occupying almost the entire composition area seeing to the bottom and some other Bahia sheds. The figures are of black race and have defined facial features. On the left, flutist sitting, 3/4 facing right; wears sleeveless T-shirt, pants and white shoes. He is sitting on a crate, with reclining back, arms folded holding hands a flute and on the left leg bent on the right. In the lower on the left corner of the composition, it is seen on a crate, a gourd and an object suggesting a mug, and a little further back on the floor, a clay jug. To the right of the composition, Bahia standing in front; wears rotated dress with white piece of top and skirt with dots in blue. Half skirt wheel is in shadow area shown in blue. The head wears sort of cap with basket. You have your arms straight up, legs apart and pants red shoes. In the background, on the left of center, another Bahian less defined than the first: wear blouse had taken that fall-white skirt and light blue and dark blue round half as if in a shaded area; head sees the suggestion of a cap with small basket. He has hands on her hips and legs apart. Although the background small sheds represented by squares with some doors with windows all other with flat cover except one, to the right, the cover is tilted. The shacks suggest be slightly up hill toward the bottom. Floor represented in shades of gray, ochre, and green earthy with small traces horizontally in black. At the top of the composition is seen sky small range.
