General Info
Portinari made this portrait at the atelier of Lula Cardoso Ayres, his friend and colleague at the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes / ENBA, at Rua das Laranjeiras 99, Rio de Janeiro. The execution of this portrait, like that of Portrait of Lula Cardoso Ayres [FCO 2911], was documented on film in 1928 by Maurício, brother of Lula, who had just purchased one of the first video cameras in Brazil. It is the earliest video documentation of Portinari [FV 49].
