Composition in black and white. Contour lines and shading. Portrait of man's head, facing left 3/4 and occupying almost the entire support area, and flat against white background. The pictured has oval face, straight brown hair, combed straight back, broad forehead, marked eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes on the left, marked nose with septum closed labia minora and very square chin. It has a short neck and wears closed the shirt collar and tie suggested by shading.
