Gustavo Capanema Palace (Tile Work)
Historical info
Two tile panels made to decorate the facade of the Gustavo Capanema Palace, Stars-of-the-Sea and Fishes, Shells and Hippocampus. The Peixe Cara de Gente panel was not assembled. The printing of the tiles was carried out by Paulo Rossi Osir, in his studio, in São Paulo. Paulo Rossi carried out countless tests until he arrived at the shade of blue that Portinari wanted, which was the tone of Portuguese tiles, brought to Brazil during the Colonial Brazil period. Both knew that the blue tone sought by the artist was obtained through techniques with secrets from the Middle Ages.
