The 'Portinari Art and Environment' project consists of an exhibition of 23 digital replicas, printed in the original format, in mineral pigment on cotton paper, with five modules, which address important issues related to the environment and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nine different locations in the state of Rio de Janeiro hosted the exhibition, with the support of the Federal Culture Incentive Law and the sponsorship of Vale Cultural Institute and Enauta Energia S.A..
Within the state of Rio de Janeiro, the traveling exhibitions are part of the 'Portinari in the Outskirts' project, which takes place in regions where the inhabitants do not have common and constant access to cultural facilities, either because of violence or the absence of public policies that favor this right.
Meeting the criteria of democratizing access to art and culture exhibitions, accessibility for people with disabilities and the aims of the Portinari Project, in particular the issue of social inclusion, the traveling exhibition was in several cities in Rio de Janeiro between August 2022 and June 2023: Palacete Princesa Isabel - Santa Cruz - Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Biblioteca Parque da Rocinha - São Conrado - Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Museu do Graffiti - Pavuna - Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Instituto Nacional de Educação para Surdos (INES) - Laranjeiras - Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Ekballo - Madureira - Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Goméia Galpão Cultural - Duque de Caxias/RJ which were in 2022; and Instituto Arteiros - Cidade de Deus - Rio de Janeiro/RJ, E..
