Title
Burning on Sugar Cane Plantation
Description
Composition in black and white. Parallel lines and shading. Three workers beating cane fields to put out the fire. In the center of the composition, two figures of workers, one behind the other, diagonally from right to left and from front to back, with legs apart, holding a bunch of cane in their hands, above their heads. Further back to the right, another figure, in profile to the left, in the same position as the other two. The chiaroscuro of the composition suggests the smoke of the burning. The bottom is completely filled with sugarcane, with a bundle of canes scattered on the ground.
