The Transfiguration
Description
Composition in black and white. Lines defining contours and shading setting volume. Three figures lying on the hill and Jesus walking toward these figures. To the right of the composition, white retangle shape corresponding to the door of the dining room wall where the mural would be painted. On the left foreground, man lying on the floor, wearing long sleeve tunic. He is lying with his trunk uplifted, resting on his right arm, left arm raised, head upward looking toward Jesus, who is further back. More to the right, another man, lying, 3/4 facing the right, wears long sleeve tunic, has his back leaning against a rock, legs bent, right arm bent resting on his chest and the left arm stretched forward, head facing upward toward Jesus, who is further back. In the background, a higher part of the hill, in the center, a man lying horizontally with the head to the right. On the third level, in the the center, in the highest part of the hill, Jesus walking facing forward, with open arms, using tunic with long fluttering tail.
