Composition in black and white. Contour lines, parallel and intersecting and shaded. Night It depicts on a hill with musicians and women carrying water cans. In the foreground on the right stylized woman from the front, using Carajá Indian clothes with a can of water on the head; next to it, a white dog and a black cat profile to the right and a child standing in front, naked. In the center, three musicians at the door of a shack: two are sitting, one plays the guitar and the other plays the clarinet; a little behind, standing, a third plays opossum; the latter two wear straw hat. On the right figure of half-bust in the window of a shack, with the face in profile to the left. In the background, on the left, man standing at the door of a shack, 3/4 toward the on the right, wearing a suit and hat, has the on the right arm raised suggesting be wearing a suit jacket; at his side, a small animal lying in profile to the right. Further back on the left, clothesline with clothes hanging; the center and on the right die with multiple sheds and all arranged asymmetrically with flat roofs; electricity stations go up the hill. Several women go through the shacks, some carrying cans of water on their heads. On the third level, to the left, another hill; almost to the center, you see a building covered by the background of the hill. On the right suggestion of another hill. In the background, the sea with hills on the horizon and the moon in first quarter.
