Description
Composition in tones earthy, ochre, yellow, red, orange, blue, gray, green, white and black. Smooth texture. It depicts the royal family earthying in Bahia. Cortege taking ahead D. João VI, Carlota Joaquina and Pedro being received by a noble and religious, surrounded by popular and soldiers, seeing the background blue sea with caravels and Bahia lanscape. On the left, popular grouped in a kind of dock where you can see part of a caravel aportada, the figure of a Bahian highlighting with board head watching the arrival of procession taking ahead of the royal family. The crowd joins in perspective for background. In the center of the composition, tall masts with different colors flags flying. On the right grouped crowd and little deeper, part of the city at the foot of a hill, especially a church. In the background, blue sea with three caravels diagonally from the left to the right and front to the back, next to the horizon. Blue sky with some clouds.
