Purgatory
Description
Composition in tones earthy, ochre, red, blue, white, black, green and gray. Smooth texture. It depicts purgatory, seeing are several devils, an angel and a number of people begging. The scene takes place in a purgatory formed by species of plateaus: some big, some small isolated separated by moats. On these plateaus, are seen on the left, several men and women prostrate on the ground, some kneeling and the other standing, all with pleading expression and despair attitudes. Among people, find themselves some little devils; still on the same side of the composition, Angel flying in the direction of a woman kneeling in profile to the right, looking in his direction. To the right of the composition, devil sitting in profile to the left, represented by red human body, animal head with wings on her back. He's with his arms stretched forward and secure something cylindrical shape with thorns as if threatening imploring people who are ahead of him. Next the devil, four women are seen: one in the prone position, with the trunk up, another kneeling, his back, his arms stretched upward and a little deeper, another woman in profile to the left kneeling with hands resting on the floor with little devil sitting on his rump and another woman standing in profile to the right, suggesting be walking and wearing white dress. The scene takes place indoors suggesting an underground place.
