Composition representing Discovery It depicts in Brazil, with group of indigenous on the beach watching three ships, on the left, approaching the coast. The indigenous are in what appears to be a beach edge into the sea, due to the mass composed of geometrical areas in blue and ochre in the lower on the left corner of the composition. The group consists of eight Indian adults and a child India. The Indian on the left out of the pack to be back and crouching on bent legs. He has raised a spear and securely arms horizontally; like the others, he is naked and suggests having body painting, suggested by reddish fine strokes. The other indigenous are grouped on the right of the composition, standing almost in profile to the left, looking and pointing at the caravels. Group ago, child figure India, facing and with his hands over his eyes as if crying. In the background, on the left, three ships diagonally from the left to the right and in perspective for background, sailing in waters suggested by geometrical areas in stronger blue tones of the sky and clearer than the area that is background to indigenous.
