The Quieted Storm
Description
Composition in light shades of ochre, rose, gray, white, blue, yellow and shades earthy, green, ochre, red, orange, yellow, blue and black. Smooth and rough texture, marked strokes. Boat and sailing on the water with six figures on deck, representing Jesus and some apostles, and the blue sky background. Composition characterized by transparency effects and overlapping of regular and irregular geometric shapes. Forms built by colors instead of contour lines. In the foreground, sea detail along the base composition, and parapet chords of the vessel, see figure to the right leaning on the railing with his arms stretched towards the water and looking hands touch it. This figure wears clothes in shades of red and gray and have straight long hair and black with touches of blue, falling toward the water and covering her face completely. on the far right, above and behind the figure, string detail, booms and sails with geometrical shapes in gray and ochre. In the background, four disciples in the center of the vessel: the on the left, Jesus sitting with face resting in his on the right hand, eyes closed, wearing long dresses in yellow and green. Leaning over him, in profile to the left, bearded man, mustache and red tunic with geometrical shapes in gray in bare feet. In the center, man standing, facing, head tilted back, his face turned up, open arms, coat in yellow with ochre forms, open and barefoot legs. On the right man kneeling in profile to the left, hands folded orange tunic with touches of ochre and green, hooded and barefoot. In the third level, on the right next to the railing, man standing back with open arms and raised. In the background, blue sky.
