Historical Info
For the first time, the press analyzed one of Portinari’s works: "This painting ["Mulher Nua", de Oswaldo Teixeira] can be compared to another, one by Candido Portinari, of the same model. In the latter, she is more at ease and even appears distinguished. The figure assumes, then, an arrogant bearing. The eyelids are lowered, as if in modesty, unable to confront the ravaging focus of her lines and forms. It is the antagonistic transmutation of Oswaldo’s painting" [PR 1].
