Description
Composition in black and white. Predominance of contour lines and some shaded. Study representing indigenous It depicts sighting tall ship at sea. In the foreground, in the lower on the left corner, small hill suggestion. A little on the left of center, Indian kneeling with his back, with both arms raised, holding a spear horizontally. On the right occupying the entire top half of the composition, indigenous group standing, facing left, some pointing toward the caravel and other holding spears upon the right. Still part of the group but from the front, one little Indian with his on the right hand in the mouth. In the background, occupying the entire top half on the left of the composition, sea suggestion with a caravel of candles and open with the bow facing toward the coast in the direction where the indigenous.
